Expectations of Student
Complete your assigned work at home each week. Students are expected to spend about 1-2 hours per day for each one credit class. Notify your teacher right away if you do not understand the homework, or it’s taking too long to complete.
Turn in assignments on time. Late work will be marked down one letter grade for each week it is late. Unexcused late work will only be accepted up to two weeks late.
Come to class on time with all materials needed and ready to participate in the discussion. Text or call the absentee line if you will be absent.
Display a respectful attitude to all teachers, your classmates, and parents.
While at Bethel Community Church, limit building use to specified student areas only.
Bring school assignments to work on in the designated study areas if you have large breaks between classes.
No horseplay or public displays of affection will be tolerated at any time otherwise your parent will be called, and you will be asked to go home.
Please clean up and leave the campus cleaner than when you arrived.
Parent will be notified of behavior issues immediately via text. If the problem persists, one parent will need to accompany the student to the next class. If the problem persists, the teacher has the right to withdraw the student from class.
Cell phones are not allowed in class.
Expectations of Teacher
Provide a clear syllabus with assignments and their due date.
Keep Google Classroom up to date with homework assignments and extra materials needed.
Plan and teach lessons each week based on the syllabus.
Stay current with Academy Northwest’s expectations for accredited courses.
Provide a grade and feedback on homework turned in no later than two weeks late.
Be available to answer questions at Bethel during designated appointment times.
Expectations of Parent
Stay current on your student’s grade and assignments via online grade book (Teacherease) and Google Classroom, when applicable.
Assist your student during the week and continue the teaching of the lessons that were started at HLC.
Encourage your student to turn in their homework on time and provide assistance when needed.
Since classes only meet once a week (with the exception of High School Math), the teacher and parent are in a partnership. Both the parent and the teacher have a part in making this class a success. Communication is key.
Class Payments are ACH withdrawn. If there are NSF, parents will be charged a $25 late fee.
